FLATHEAD FISH 

The Flathead Fish is a purpose-designed board meant to be ridden 3 to 4 inches shorter than your traditional keel fish. It's designed for maximum sensitivity, lift, and drive—pared down into a small, efficient package.

This isn’t your everyday, every-condition fish.

The concept behind the polarizing nose design is that you get the rail line of a longer board for hold and drive while reducing the overall length of the board and its swing weight. That design, combined with the heavy single concave throughout the bottom and pinched rails, gives you tons of lift and a board that can bite the wave. It’s a board that surprises me over and over in all the best ways.

If you’ve spent time on a mini Simmons or similar, this hybrid brings a super fun blend to the arena.

The sweet spot is waist-high to slightly overhead surf with clean surface tension conditions and fast down-the-line waves. I’ll admit, it takes a bit to get used to, but once you do, it’s very hard to get off of it. Mushy or tubing, it handles both with tons of speed, drive, and a spontaneity that I love in a fish.
